JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Interior Designer position provides administrative and project management support to the Designer(s) and Senior Designer(s). Their tasks include, but are not limited to, monitoring projects, direct communication with clients, space planning, and preparing mood boards for client presentations. The majority of their time is spent sourcing products, putting together proposals, tracking orders, invoicing and payment collection, and project management. Junior Designers will also assist Designers and Senior Designers in project management and coordinate logistics for installs. They must have the ability to plan, manage, and execute projects with minimal supervision, but not independently.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for taking the lead on tasks and projects and ensuring they are running smoothly
Ability to plan, organize, and execute a project from beginning to end
Take initiative, problem solve, collaborate and communicate effectively with the design team
Track progress of each project assigned and ensure deadlines are met
Assist with site measurements, installations, and photoshoots
Direct point of contact for supporting designers, clients, and contractors
Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail
Provides information by answering questions and requests
Update customer financial information, budget, and notes on an ongoing basis
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Selecting and ordering materials and furnishings (FF&E) based on project needs and requirements
Ability to create a conceptual design board for individual clients
Creating purchase orders, updating and tracking items on our design software for customers
Supervise work progress of Design Assistants
Approve specified materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting, accessories, etc. required for each project
Communicate with internal staff, clients, and vendors regularly
Basic understanding of the construction process
Prepare client proposals for approval and purchasing
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of wholesale/trade furnishings, finishes, materials, color selections, textiles, and specifications.
Undertake design project from concept to completion
Creative talent, imagination, and eye for design
Must be detail-oriented and able to understand and communicate design requirements and functionality to contractors & tradespeople
Ability to work under strict deadlines and short turnaround time frames
Exceptional teamwork skills in leading and collaborating with others
Knowledge of Sketchup and/or AutoCAD
Familiar with Canva and Photoshop (Preferred)
Familiar with design software such as MyDoma/Ivy
Requires experience with Apple Works, specifically Keynote, Pages & Numbers.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift objects (up to 10 lbs. weight; up to 4 ft. height).
Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to see things from a close distance and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment utilizes florescent lighting; the noise level is moderate.
The emotional demand of the job may cause undue stress from, but not limited to, moderate/heavy workload.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/Architecture and/or equivalent design work experience (1-3 years of experience).
MUST-HAVES:
1-3 years of design experience
Bachelor’s in Interior Design/Architecture and/or equivalent design or project management experience
Proficient in SketchUp and/or AutoCAD
Familiar with software like Ivy/MyDoma
Can manage their work autonomously and their time efficiently
Personable and friendly
STARTING PAY RANGE: $20-24/hr DOE
